Old times

When the days still went on foot,
stopped to stare the glowing dawn,
stood aside to take a rest,
bent for an amazing stone.

When the love was simply love,
You and I until the death,
when the time was not a load,
when that stone could be a pledge.

St. Martin’s day goose reminded me of this old photo
of my gramdmother (in the darker dress) and her sister.

Régi idők

Amikor a napok még gyalog jártak,
és megcsodálták a hajnali eget,
az árokparton pihentek egy kicsit,
felvettek a porból egy fénylő követ.

A rohanó idő még nem volt teher,
kincset ért az úton talált szép kavics,
együtt, kéz a kézben, át az éveken,
ilyen egyszerű volt a szerelem is.

The photos were made sometime in the forties.

  4. So beautiful, dearest Edit! How do you always find so lovely and interesting ways to express ideas? I don't read much poetry, but if all the writers found such fresh ways to say the things, I definitely would. :)
    Big hugs! ♥
