Hello light

Goodbye darkness, hello light!
It's a cycle not a fight.
With any gods or without,
Morning follows every night.

Winter's followed by the spring,
Life moves on its own old ring.
After storm, the sun will shine,
It's a circle not a line.

Summer flies, and then the fall,
World rolls like a worn out ball.
And the day turns into night,
Every colour fades to white.

Once all things that live will die,
There's no Hell, Heaven's a lie.
So with a god or without,
Goodbye darkness, hello light.

The curious angel

A curious tiny angel dropped down from the sky.
She had not got her wings yet, so she could not fly.
In her mud-spattered dress, she cried under a tree,
Because she got a little booboo on her knee.

I called her into the house, those were frosty days.
She was given hot tea and bandage on the graze.
We ate fresh baked potato, and drank chocholate milk,
Her mood brightened up quickly and her bad leg healed.

We jumped on the bed and built blanket hideaway,
Our silver giggling flied beyond the Milky Way.
And waiting for miracles in the merry weeks,
We put icicle crown onto the head of trees.

We ran across the hills without fear in our hearts,
And blew snowflakes into the angry wind's black eyes.
We threw seeds in the feeder, sunflower and oat,
And dressed the freezing snowman in a rimy coat.

Christmas arrived at last, in frail iceflower lace,
We woke up when the sun broke through the morning haze.
The stove murmured in fragrance of the gingerbread,
The pine tree was gorgeous in sparkling gold and red.

A message was brought by the soft-footed midnight,
In rolling voice of bells, in candle's dancing light.
The curious little angel was missed by her friends,
They sent a cloud-boat for her through the snowy lands.

We had to say goodbye, but she promised she come
To me in next December with the lowest sun.
By then she'll have got wings, she will take me to fly,
We'll spread the world with stardust of the winter sky.

A kíváncsi angyal

Karácsonyi fények pislogtak az égre,
Egy kíváncsi angyal pottyant le a télbe.
Nem tudott repülni, nem volt neki szárnya,
Bibis lett a térde, sáros a ruhája.

Behívtam a házba, hideg volt az este.
Forró teát kapott, s ragtapaszt a sebre.
Sütőben sült krumplit ettünk vacsorára,
Felderült a kedve, nem fájt már a lába.

Ugráltunk az ágyon, ezüst nevetése
Felszállt jó magasra, egészen az égre.
Vidám napok jöttek, a csodára várva,
Jégcsapokból raktunk koronát a fákra.

Szaladtunk a dombon, semmitől se félve,
Hópelyhet fújtunk a dühös szél szemébe.
Madaraknak búzát szórtunk egy nagy tálba,
Hóembert bújtattunk zúzmarás kabátba.

Eljött a karácsony, jégvirág csipkében,
Kelő nappal keltünk, felöltöztünk szépen.
Szegfűszeg illatban duruzsolt a kályha,
Girlandot aggattunk zöld fenyőfa ágra.

Üzenetet hozott a puhaléptű este,
Harang halk szavában, gyertyalángba festve.
Hívta a kis angyalt sok égi barátja,
Ablakpárkányomon felhőbárka várta.

Búcsúznunk kellett, de becsszóra ígérte,
Jövőre is eljön, legalább egy hétre.
Megtanul repülni, lesz egy erős szárnya,
Csillagport szórunk majd együtt a világra.

Advent evening

The crowd flows slowly, clatters on the square.
Thousands of lights entice into the dusk.
Sweet Christmas scents are all around the air.
Enchanting moment comes and holds me up.

Still-flakes embrace and gently lead me on.
And long ago forgotten thoughts awake.
The voice of bell echoes deep in my soul.
I walk along a road I've left away.

The past knocks on the worn stones of the floor.
Old creaking benches whisper in my ear.
Musing on wonders I just stand alone,
And wish this lovely faith won't disappear.

The child who dreams forever endless tale...
I lost her but she will find me today.

Karácsonyi szonett

Zsibongva, lassan áradó tömeg,
S ezernyi fény az alkonyatba csábít.
Fahéjas édes illat ott lebeg
A fák alatt, s a pillanat megállít.

A csönd fehér pihékkel átkarol,
Egy észrevétlen gondolat felébred,
Harang szavára szíved úgy dobol,
S rég elhagyott utakra visz ma lépted.

A Múlt kopog kopott kövek során,
Az ócska pad remegve megnyikordul.
A lelked elmereng a bús csodán,
És tiszta szép hitet zokogva koldul.

Ma újra rád talál az elveszett,
Örök meséket álmodó gyerek.

Gingerbread crumbs

Teenager's Christmas

Christmas tree with thousand lights,
crumbs of cake are on my mouth,
squabbling guests in cheerful socks...
Goodbye angels, now I'm off.

Star Wars Christmas

Festive spirit, Christmas time,
light swords hanging on the pine.
Chewbacca and Obi-Wan
play with cards not with a gun.

Millennium Falcon flies,
brings the angel to the house.
Yoda waits them, scans the sky,
he is still a little shy.

At the table, Jedi Knight
eating cookies all the night.
Master Windu cautions him:
Tomorrow, go to the gym!

Darth Vader, humming a song,
counts the good things, and the wrongs.
Leia hugs Han, 'You are late'.
Luke naps, and dreams of a date.

Finally they hear the bell,
it sounds like a magic spell.
Candle flame, heavenly sign,
Christmas spirit, Christmas time.

Changing Christmases

There was time when others cooked,
waited, kissed, and asked to stay
for a little, but we rushed,
gathering stars on the way.

There'll be time when we will cook,
others come, just kiss and go,
and we wait, while from the sky,
stars pop in to say hello.
