Bunny siblings

When winter gives the place to spring,
Daffodil and Hyacinth,
the little bunny siblings go
to the flowery meadow.

Nyuszi testvérek

Nárcisz nyuszi, Jácint nyuszi
nagyon várja a tavaszt.
Játszanának kint a kertben,
virágzó vén fák alatt.

The bunny and the bear

I'm a bunny, you're a bear.
Never mind if others stare.
We are happy, we are free,
I love you and you love me.

A nyuszi és a medve

Nyuszi vagyok, te meg medve.
Bámulnak ránk elképedve.
Sose bánjad, az a lényeg,
Szeretsz engem, s én is téged.

Daffodil, the little bunny

When the weather turns sunny,
Daffodil, the kind bunny
Likes to walk under the trees
Playing with the bumblebees.

But it's winter, icy grey,
Cold wind blows the days away.
In the garden, lonely bare
Trees shivering everywhere.

At the window, our bunny,
Eats some oatmeal with honey.
And longingly dreams of spring,
When sun cuddles everything.

And she goes to see her friends
through the fresh green grassy lands.
Runs among the daffodils
Happily with swinging ears.

Nárcisz, a kis nyuszi

Nárcisz nyuszi nagyon várja,
Ne legyen a házba zárva.
Játszhasson már kinn a kertben,
Napsütésben, friss melegben.

De most tél van, szürke, fagyos.
Szél fújja a bágyadt napot.
Didergő fák csupasz karja
Ónos felhők súlyát tartja.

Nyuszink ül az ablak mellett,
Répát eszik, mézes kekszet.
Bokrok közé alkonyat száll,
Nézi csöndben, elszunyókál.

Álmában már itt a tavasz,
Pillangó száll és ő szalad
Nárciszok közt, tarka réten,
Füle vígan leng a szélben.

Paula McLain: Love and Ruin

"'Sleep isn’t a skill.' I laughed at him. 'But of course, señorita. The innocent have it. They’re born with it. Somehow you lose it as you age. Worry steals it away.'"

"But I'm not sure I believe in wars anymore. They only make ghosts and they don't change anything."

"We had all the time in the world to make a terrible mistake."

"Time would have its way with everything, because that’s what had always happened and always would, out into infinity."

"'No one will win,
' he said simply. 'This is war, after all.'"

"I lay in one place and read, soaking up the peace and stillness, and feeling only a little guilty for being so happy alone."

Kurt Vonnegut:Welcome to the Monkey House

“Until six years ago, the Democratic poll watchers and the Republican poll watchers were all Republicans. Now the Democratic poll watchers are Democrats. The consequences of this revolution have not been nearly as awful as expected ‒ so far.
Where I live (1964)

“They're bad laws,” said Billy. “If you go back through history, you'll find that the people who have been most eager to rule, to make the laws, to enforce the laws and to tell everybody exactly how God Almighty wants things here on Earth ‒ those people have forgiven themselves and their friends for anything and everything.
Welcome to the Monkey House (1968)

“Fred Bockman is thirty and looks eighteen. Life has left no marks on him, because he hasn't paid much attention to it.”
The Euphio Question (1951)

“The mind is the only thing about human beings that's worth anything. Why does it have to be tied to a bag of skin, blood, hair, meat, bones, and tubes? No wonder people can't get anything done, stuck for life with a parasite that has to be stuffed with food and protected from weather and germs all the time. And the fool thing wears out anyway ‒ no matter how much you stuff and protect it!”
Unready to Wear (1953)

“Think of it this way," said Helmholtz. “Our aim is to make the world more beautiful than it was when we came into it. It can be done. You can do it.”
The Kid Nobody Could Handle (1955)

“There are too many of us, and we are all too far apart...”
Adam (1954)

Isten hozott a majomházban!

Korábban a demokrata párti megfigyelők és a republikánus párti megfigyelők egyaránt republikánus pártiak voltak.Újabban viszont a demokrata párti megfigyelők demokrata pártiak. Ezen forradalmi fejlemény sokkal kevesebb galibával járt, mint gondolták volna legalábbis egyelőre.
Ahol élek (1964) Fordította Szántó György Tibor

A törvények rosszak - felelte Billy.

A kölyök, akit senki sem tudott kezelni (1955) Fordította M. Nagy Miklós

Túl sokan vagyunk, és mind túl messze egymástól...
